Worship

Our worship is characterised by the full participation of all people in traditional and contemporary worship

Our ministry is inclusive and diverse and we use vernacular in worship and praise

We are always looking at developing creative liturgy

We have regular youth service and involve children in our worship

Our regular Sunday service is in the form of a Eucharist and Bible Study

Evangelism

We proclaim the gospel of Christ through:

  • Outreach Programmes and Visitations
  • Home Cells and Bible Study
  • Enjoy good ecumenical relationships with other communities
  • We adhere to the five marks of mission:
  • To Proclaim, the good news of the kingdom
  • To Teach, baptise and nurture new believers
  • To Respond, to human need by loving service
  • To Seek, to transform the unjust structures of society
  • To Strive, to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth
  • Prison Ministry, We do prison ministry and have the largest prison ministry in the Southern Hemisphere within our parish.

Social Responsibility

We believe in ploughing back into our communities as Jesus wants us to be active Christians and a part of a Living Church. As part of our social responsibility program and through our various ministries, we participate and are engaged in the following:

Support of victims of abuse and family violence

HIV/AIDS

Training of caregivers

We support 28 families (some of which are child headed houses holds) in Freedom Park

Are involved in the greater Diocesan initiative ‘Siyafundisa Program’ that teaches volunteers and trains them on HIV/AIDS workshop facilitation and education.

Periodically we host a mobile health clinic wherein trained health professionals conduct services like general health checkups like blood pressure, cholesterol and HIV testing. The clinic is open to people within the surrounding community
